MitID Private for Business users

Certain individuals are automatically authorised to act digitally on behalf of their business or association with their private MitID, even if their organisation has not actively entered into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv. These users are referred to as “MitID Private for Business users”.

“MitID Private for Business users” refers to “MitID Privat til Erhverv-brugere” in Danish.

If you can comfirm that you meet the 5 criteria below, you are considered a MitID Private for Business user.

  • You are a management representative or association representative and are registered in the CVR (Central Business Register).
  • You have a Danish CPR (Civil Registration) number.
  • You use private MitID, such as the one used to log in to your personal online banking, when acting digitally on behalf of your business or association.
  • You have been automatically authorised to act digitally on behalf of the business or association without actively entering into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv.
  • When approving a login (e.g.to a self-service) using MitID app, code display, code reader, or chip, you are prompted to choose whether to log in as a management representative or as a private individual. You select the option to log in as a management representative when acting on behalf of your business or association.

A typical MitID private for business user is:

  • an owner of a sole proprietorship
  • an individual registered in the CVR (Central Business Register) as an association representative in associations and voluntary associations, such as an association chairperson or treasurer
  • a director or board member in a company who:
    • has a Danish CPR (Civil Registration) number
    • is registered in the CVR (Central Business Register)
    • has the right to enter agreements on behalf of the company independently.

As a general rule, there is one MitID Private for Business user per company or association. This single MitID Private for Business user can act digitally on behalf of the business or association.

In certain cases, companies, such as A/S or ApS, may have multiple MitID private for business users if several individuals have the right to solely represent the company under their signing rules. This refers to the authority to enter into agreements independently on behalf of the company.

How to act digitally on behalf of your business or association as a MitID Private for Business user

When logging, you use your private MitID, as you would when logging in to your personal online bank.

Enter your private MitID user ID and approve with the MitID app, code display, audio code reader, or chip.

You will be asked whether you would like to log in as:

  • a private individual
  • a management representative.

Choose “management representative.”

Once selected, you can act on behalf of your business or association.

If individuals other than the MitID private for business user need to act digitally on behalf of your organisation, your organisation must enter into a connection agreement MitID Erhverv. You can assign a power of attorney to your accountant either in MitID Erhverv or Digital Fuldmagt, depending on whether your business has entered into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv.

If your business has concluded the connection agreement, you should create a business power of attorney in MitID Erhverv. You can do this by:

  • assigning your accountant a business power of attorney in MitID Erhverv
  • having your accountant, who also has the connection agreement with MitID Erhverv, request a business power of attorney in MitID Erhverv, which you approve in MitID Erhverv.

If your accountant uses MitID Private for Business and has not concluded a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv, they can submit a request via Digital Fuldmagt. You approve or reject the accountant's request in MitID Erhverv.

If your business has not concluded the connection agreement, you should create a power of attorney in Digital Fuldmagt. You can do this by:

  • assigning your accountant a power of attorney in Digital Fuldmagt
  • having your accountant with the connection agreement with MitID Erhverv request a business power of attorney in MitID Erhverv, which you approve in Digital Fuldmagt.

If your accountant uses MitID Private for Business and has not concluded a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv, they can submit a request in Digital Fuldmagt.
