Find instructions on how to issue, download, block, or renew a user certificate as a MitID Erhverv user.
This page is relevant for:
When your user administrator has ordered a user certificate for you, you will receive an email from noreply@mitid-erhverv.dk with the subject “Issue and download a user certificate” (in Danish: Hent et brugercertifikat).
You can download the certificate to your computer by following the link in the email. You will be asked to log into MitID Erhverv
Please note that if you are authorised to act digitally on behalf of multiple organisations, you must select which organisation you wish to log in on behalf of.
Tap the "Next" button. You will then be shown the following information:
The "Terms and Conditions" page appears. You accept the terms and conditions by ticking the box "Yes, I accept terms and conditions". The "Next" button will then become active, and you should tap it.
The "Password for your certificate" page will be displayed
The password is masked with black dots. To view the password, select "Show".
Please note down the displayed password. Alternatively, you can tap "Copy to clipboard" button to copy the password.
Store the password securely.
Tap the "Next" button.
The certificate is now ready to be issued. The download will start automatically. If the certificate does not begin downloading automatically, you can tap the "Download certificate" button.
Once the dowload is complete, you can tap the "Close" button.
Tap the “Certificate” menu.
You will then observe that the certificate you have just issued is now listed as “Issued”.
You can find notifications next to your name at the top of the page.
Look for a notification in MitID Erhverv with the subject “Issue and download a user certificate” (in Danish: Hent et brugercertifikat).
You can start the process of downloading the certificate in one of the following 2 ways:
You will be logged out and redirected to the login page.
Please note that if you are authorised to act digitally on behalf of multiple organisations, you must select which organisation you wish to log in on behalf of.
The ”Issue your certificate” page appears.
Tap the “Next” button. You will then be shown the following information:

Press the "Next" button.
The certificate is now ready to be issued. The download will start automatically. If it does not start automatically, you can tap "Download certificate".
Once the certificate has been downloaded, you can tap the "Close" button.
Tap the “Certificate” menu.
You can now see that the user certificate you have just issued is marked as “Issued”.
You will need to enter your MitID user-ID. Then, you must approve the login using your MitID authenticator.
Your user profile opens
The "Certificate" menu is located directly above "History" at the bottom of your user profile.
You can view the list of certificates you have. The list displays three properties:
Click the arrow next to the certificate profile to view the certificate details.
The certificate details will then be displayed.
Below the certificate details, you will find the following options:
Select "Block".
The "Delete Certificate Profile" window will appear.
The "Delete Certificate Profile" window will warn you that you are about to block a certificate.
Press the "Ok" button at the bottom of the window. You will then return to the "Certificate" menu, where the certificate will now be marked as "Blocked".
Please note that a certificate cannot be reactivated once it has been blocked, but you can always order a new one.
You will need to enter your MitID user-ID. Then, you must approve the login using your MitID authenticator.
Your user profile opens
The "Certificate" menu is located directly above the "History" menu at the bottom of your user profile.
You can view the list of certificates you have. The list displays three properties:
Tap the arrow next to the certificate profile to view the certificate details.
The certificate details will then be displayed.
Below the certificate details, you will find the following options:
Select "Renew certificate".
The "Renew certificate" window will appear.
The "Renew Certificate" window includes, e.g:
You will be directed to the "Certificates" menu within the "Certificate Profile" window, where you can find a new certificate marked as "In progress".
