You need to activate yourself as a user in MitID Erhverv when you have received an activation email from MitID Erhverv. If you are not activated as a user, you cannot act digitally on behalf of your organisation or access MitID Erhverv as a user.
If you know that your user administrator has ordered a MitID code display, audio code reader, or chip for you, you should wait to activate yourself until you have received the authenticator. Along with the authenticator, you will also receive a guide for activation.
When the user administrator creates you as a user in MitID Erhverv you will receive an email with a link to activate yourself as a user.
The activation link is valid for 30 days. If you do not manage to activate yourself as a user in MitID within 30 days, you must contact the user administrator. The user administrator can resend the email. If you do not know who the user administrator is in your organisation, you can get the name of the user administrator from MitID Erhverv Support.
You need to decide whether you would like to use your private MitID or a separate MitID when acting on behalf of your organisation:
Note that in some cases, you will not be presented with both options above when activating. This is because your organisation may only allow one of the options.
You need to choose which authenticator you want to use:

If you have chosen private MitID under "2. Private MitID or a separate MitID" above, you will use the authenticator that you use, for example, to log in to your own online banking. This could be:
If you have chosen a separate MitID, you can choose to use:
If you choose the private MitID app for a separate MitID, you will no longer be able to approve logins with biometrics, e.g. fingerprint or facial recognition.
You may not be presented with all the options during activation. This could be because:
If you have been set up as a user with a separate MitID in your organisation, you can use the same separate MitID in another organisation. This requires that all organisations you would like to use your separate MitID for approve it. In that case, you can select it.
This step is only relevant for those who have chosen a separate MitID when acting digitally on behalf of their organisation.
If you have chosen the MitID app on a phone other than your private phone (e.g., work phone), download the MitID app from the Apple App Store or Google Play before starting the activation.
If you or your user administrator have chosen MitID code display, audio code reader, or chip for your separate MitID, you should wait to begin the activation until you have received the chosen authenticator.
You should have the following 3 items ready before you start activation:
When the user administrator creates you as a user in MitID Erhverv, you will receive an activation email.
The activation email contains a link, which you should tap to start the activation. The link will take you to an activation page where you can see which organisation has created you as a user in MitID Erhverv.
Tap the "Start activation" button on the page that the activation email link has led you to.
You log in with your private MitID, which you use, for example, to log in to your personal online banking. This is necessary to verify your identity to the organisation.
Please note that your personal information and data are not shared with the organisation, as your private MitID is only used to verify that you are indeed the person you claim to be.
You will be prompted whether you would like to use your private MitID or a separate MitID when acting digitally on behalf of your organisation.
Select "Yes, I wish to use my private MitID."
You may only be given the option to choose your private MitID if your organisation allows users to use only private MitID as authenticator.
This step is only relevant, if you have received an activation code from your user administrator.
You will need enter an activation code if your user administrator has created you as a user by using your date of birth instead of your CPR number.
If you are promoted to enter an activation code but have not received one, you should contact your user administrator. You can find information about the user administrator in the activation email.
Once you have entered the activation code, tap the "Next" button.
Tap the "Finish activation" button. You will receive a confirmation email stating that you have activated yourself as a user in MitID Erhverv.
You should have the following 3 items ready before you start the activation:
If you need to activate MitID code display, code reader, or chip, follow the guidance you received along with the authenticator.
When the user administrator creates you as a user in MitID Erhverv, you will receive an activation email.
The activation email contains a link, which you should tap to begin the activation. The link will take you to an activation page where you can see which organisation has created you as a user in MitID Erhverv.
Log in with your private MitID, which you use to log in to your own online banking. This is necessary to verify your identity to the organisation.
Note that your personal details and data will not be shared with the organisation, as your private MitID is only used to verify that you are indeed the person you claim to be.
You may only be given the option to select private MitID if your organisation only allows this. In that case, you must decline to use your private MitID and contact your user administrator. The user administrator can grant permission for you to create a separate MitID.
If you do not know who the user administrator in your organisation is, you can find this information in the activation email.
If you choose to use your private MitID, follow the instructions under "If you have chosen to use private MitID when acting digitally on behalf of your organisation" from step 5 onwards.
This step is only relevant if you have received an activation code from your user administrator.
You will need to enter an activation code if your user administrator has created you as a user using your date of birth in stead of your CPR number.
If you are prompted to enter an activation code but did not receive one, contact your user administrator, you can find their contact details at the end of the activation email.
Enter the phone number of the device you will use to activate yourself as a user in MitID Erhverv.
You will receive validation codes and messages about changes saved to your user profile on the number you provide.
It is advisable to consider whether you want your separate MitID on your private phone or on another device, such as a work phone.
Please note that you will no longer be able to use biometrics, such as fingerprint or facial recognition, if you choose to have your separate MitID on your private phone.
If you choose MitID app as your authenticator, you need to select one of the following 2 options:
Please note that you will no longer be able to use biometrics (facial recognition or fingerprint) for login or signing if you choose to use the MitID app on the phone where your private MitID is already stored.
Tap the “Start MitID app activation” button.
From step 10, you can read how to activate yourself as a user in MitID Erhverv with a separate MitID on a device other than your private phone, such as your work phone.
f you choose a separate MitID on your private phone, follow the instructions provided.
If you need to activate a MitID code display, code reader, or chip, follow the instructions you received with the code display, audio code reader, or chip.
Download the MitID app on to your device if you have not already done so. The page also contains QR codes that you can scan to access the App Store and Google Play.
The page will also display information that you will need to enter into the MitID app in the next step:
Do not close the page that is displayed, even if you proceed with your activation in the MitID app in the next step.
At the bottom of the page, there is also a QR code that you can scan with the MitID app on your phone.
Steps 11-16 take place in the MitID app on your phone, which is not your private phone (e.g., your work phone).
Open the MitID app on your phone and tap the “Get Started” button. This will take you to the “Choose how you want to proceed” step.
Then, tap the “Next” button. This will take you to the step where you enter your user ID and activation code.
You will need to enter:
Once you have entered both, the “Next” button will become active, and you should tap it.
You will then be taken to the “Enter temporary PIN code from SMS” step.
Once you press the “Next” button in the previous step, a temporary PIN code will be sent to your phone number.
Enter the temporary PIN code you received via SMS.
After entering the temporary PIN code, you will move on to the “Choose your personal PIN code” step, where you will tap the “Next” button.
Now, choose the PIN code you will use to log in to your MitID app. The code must be 6 digits.
After entering your PIN code, you will be prompted to confirm it by entering it again.
You can also choose to enable biometrics, such as fingerprint or facial recognition, if your separate MitID is in the MitID app on another device, such as your work phone, if the phone does not store other MitID.
An SMS will be sent to your phone confirming that your MitID app has been activated.
You will then proceed to the “Accept notifications” step.
You need to tap the “Set notifications” button. A new window will open where you can allow notifications.
Close the MitID app and return to the computer, tablet, or phone where you started the activation process.
Tap the “Finish Activation” button to receive a confirmation email.
