Retrieve, block, or renew your user certificate

Get guidance on how to retrieve, block, or renew a user certificate as a MitID Erhverv user.

This page is relevant for:

  • users who have received an email or notification in MitID Erhverv stating that their user administrator has ordered a user certificate
  • users who already have a user certificate.

Retrieve your user certificate via email

When your user administrator has ordered a user certificate for you, you will receive an email with the subject “Retrieve a user certificate”.

You can download the certificate to your computer by following the link in the email. You will be asked to log into MitID Erhverv

You will need to enter your MitID user-ID. Then, you must approve the login using your MitID authenticator.

MitID Erhverv: Login

Once you are logged in to MitID Erhverv, you can tap the "Next" button.

The "Terms and Conditions" page will be displayed. You accept the terms by ticking the box "Yes, I accept the terms and conditions." This will make it possible to tap the "Next" button, which you need to press.

The "Password for your certificate" page will be displayed

The password is masked with black dots. You need to select "Show" to view the password.

Make a note of the displayed password. Alternatively, you can tap "Copy to clipboard" to copy the password.

Store the password securely.

Press the "Next" button.

The certificate is now ready for issuance. The certificate download will start automatically. If the download does not start automatically, you can tap "Download certificate".

Once the certificate has been downloaded, you can tap the button "Close".

Retrieve your user certificate via notification in MitID Erhverv

You will need to enter your MitID user-ID. Then, you must approve the login using your MitID authenticator.

MitID Erhverv: Login

You can find notifications next to your name at the top of the page.

Look for a notification in MitID Erhverv with the subject “Retrieve a user certificate”.

Press "Next".

The "Terms and Conditions" page will be displayed. You accept the terms by ticking the box "Yes, I accept the terms and conditions." This will make it possible to tap the "Next" button, which you need to press.

The "Password for your certificate" page will be displayed

Make a note of the displayed password. Alternatively, you can tap "Copy to clipboard" to copy the password.

Store the password securely.

Press the "Next" button.

The certificate is now ready for issuance. The certificate download will start automatically. If the download does not start automatically, you can tap "Download certificate".

Block your user certificate

You will need to enter your MitID user-ID. Then, you must approve the login using your MitID authenticator.

Your user profile opens

The "Certificate" menu is located directly above "History" at the bottom of your user profile.

You can view the list of certificates you have. The list displays three properties:

  • Status
  • Serial number
  • Expiry date

Click the arrow next to the certificate profile to view the certificate details.

The certificate details will then be displayed.

Below the certificate details, you will find the following options:

  • Renew certificate
  • Block
  • Download

Select "Block".

The "Delete Certificate Profile" window will appear.

The "Delete Certificate Profile" window will warn you that you are about to block a certificate.

Press the "Ok" button at the bottom of the window. You will then return to the "Certificate" menu, where the certificate will now be marked as "Blocked".

Please note that a certificate cannot be reactivated once it has been blocked, but you can always order a new one.

Renew your user certificate

You will need to enter your MitID user-ID. Then, you must approve the login using your MitID authenticator.

The "Certificate" menu is located directly above the "History" menu at the bottom of your user profile.

You can view the list of certificates you have. The list displays three properties:

  • Status
  • Serial number
  • Expiry date

Tap the arrow next to the certificate profile to view the certificate details.

The certificate details will then be displayed.

Below the certificate details, you will find the following options:

  • Renew certificate
  • Block
  • Download

Select "Renew certificate".

The "Renew certificate" window will appear.

The "Renew Certificate" window includes, e.g:

  • certificate type and price
  • identification method
  • publication of the certificate
  • email address in the certificate.

You will be directed to the "Certificates" menu within the "Certificate Profile" window, where you can find a new certificate marked as "In progress".
