User administration

No, all users do not need to use the same type of MitID authenticator. A MitID authenticator is used to verify your identity when logging into e.g. a self-service. The:

  • MitID app
  • MitID audio code reader
  • MitID code display
  • MitID chip

are MitID authenticators.

Users can use their private MitID, such as their private MitID app, if both the organisation and the individual user agree to the use of private MitID.

Alternatively, users can use a separate MitID exclusively for acting on behalf of your organisation. A separate MitID can be used with a MitID app, code display, audio code reader, or chip. It is up to each organisation to decide which authenticator users should use.

If you, as a user administrator, have created one or more users but they have not received an activation email, you can resend the email.
