Set up your organisation in MitID Erhverv within 60 days of concluding the connection agreement.

What do you need to set up your organisation in MitID Erhverv

Before the organisation administrator start setting up your organisation in MitID Erhverv, they will need to have following:

  • An email from MitID Erhverv with a link to start the setup process. The link is valid for 60 days from the date you concluded the connection agreement.
  • The organisation administrator's private MitID, which will be used to confirm their identity during the setup.
  • Decisions from your organisation on:
    • how your employees will log in or acess self-services.
    • which authenticator your employees will use to confirm their identity.

There are various login options in MitID Erhverv and MitID authenticators. You can read more about these options here:

Note that you can always change your organisation's setup later under the settings in MitID Erhverv.

How to set up your organisation in MitID Erhverv

Once your organisation has concluded the connection agreement with MitID Erhverv, the organisation administrator will receive an email with a link to set up the organisation. The link will direct the organisation administrator to the page where you start the setup process.

The organisation administrator verify their identity using their private MitID.

The details from the organisation administrator's private MitID will not be shared with the organisation or stored anywhere.

Once the administrator has verified their identity, select "Next".

The "Tasks to Complete" page will appear, providing an overview of the tasks required to complete the setup.

Select "Next".

The organisation administrator must decide whether the organisation will allow employees to use:

  • Their private MitID: A MitID they use for personal services like logging into their bank.
  • A separate MitID: A new MitID created solely for use on behalf of the organisation.

Additionally, the administrator must decide whether to allow the following:

  • Shared identification methods: Whether your employees can use a separate MitID issued by another organisation.
  • Local identification methods: Whether your own identification methods used to log in to your systems can also be used to log in to self-services. Local autheticators are typically relevant only for larger organisations with a Local IdP.

Local IdP

Once the organisation administrator has completed setting up employees' login options and access to autheticators, select "Next".

The organisation administrator must now select:

  • how they will log in to self-services in the future
  • which authenticator they will use moving forward.

For more details about login options and identification methods, refer to "3. Choose how your employees will log in and which authenticator they will use".

Once completed, select "Next".

The "Summary" page will display the choices the organisation administrator has made during the setup. If everything appears correct, select "Approve Setup".

The "Confirmation" page will appear, summarising the organisation's details and choices in MitID Erhverv.

The organisation administrator will receive an email confirmation with the same details.

Your organisation has now completed the setup in MitID Erhverv.
