Is your organisation required to enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv?

Whether your organisation is required to enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv depends on its type and needs. Determine if your organisation need it to use MitID Erhverv.

Not all organisations require a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv. Below, you can determine whether your organisation needs one. Select your organisation type and learn more:

  • Associations and voluntary organisations
  • Sole proprietorships
  • ApS (private limited companies), A/S (public limited companies), limited partnerships, cooperatives, and other companies
  • Other organisation types, such as foundations, public authorities.

Select your organisation type below to determine whether you need to join MitID Erhverv or not.

There are 2 factors that determine whether your association is required to enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv:

  • Can your association manage with just one person acting digitally on its behalf, for instance, when submitting reports via self-service platforms or reading the association’s Digital Post?
  • Is the person acting digitally on behalf of your association registered as the association’s representative in the CVR (Central Business Register), or will they need to be registered? The association representative could be someone within the association, such as a board member or the treasurer.

If your association cannot answer "yes" to the 2 factors above, it is required to enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv. Find out more about what you need to prepare before starting the process to enter into a connection agreement.

Associations

If your association can answer "yes" to the two points above, there is no need to enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv. Your association representative can act digitally on behalf of the association using their private MitID, just as they would for their personal online banking.

The owner of a sole proprietorship can use their private MitID to handle all the necessary tasks related their business digitally without needing to enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv. For example, the owner can access the company’s Digital Post. If any other than the owner needs to act digitally on behalf of the business, MitID Erhverv will be required.

Sole proprietorships

The vast majority of organisations within this type must enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv. There are 3 factors that determine whether your company needs to connect to MitID Erhverv:

  • Does your company have one and more individuals who are solely authorised to sign and enter into agreements on behalf of the company?
  • Are the individual(s) who are solely authorised to sign on behalf of the company registered in the CVR (Central Business Register)?
  • Can the individual(s) who are solely authorised to enter into agreements on behalf of the company handle all the necessary tasks digitally related to the company, such as accessing the company’s Digital Post, submitting reimbursement claims for sick and parental leaves?

If your company can answer "yes" to the 3 factors above, it is not required to enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv. The individual(s) who are solely authorised to sign on behalf of the company can act digitally with their private MitID.

If your company cannot answer "yes" to the 3 factors above, it is required to enter into a connection agreement MitID Erhverv.

If you are unsure whether there are individuals registered in the CVR (Central Business Register) who are solely authorised to sign on behalf of the company, you should check the company’s signatory rules in the CVR register:

If your organisation belongs to a type other than the 3 listed above, it will more than likely be required to enter into a connection agreement with MitID Erhverv.
