Use your private MitID to log in

Then you only need one MitID - when you log in as a private person and as a business user

You can use your private MitID when you act digitally on behalf of your company or association. You use your private user ID and private MitID authenticator, e.g. MitID app or code viewer, when you log in or sign digitally with MitID on behalf of the organisation.

In this way, you can make do with one MitID, rather than using one MitID for private use and one for professional use.

All users can use their private MitID. However, it prerequisites that the organisation and the individual user in the organisation agree to the use of private MitID.

It is the organisation administrator in the company or association who chooses whether the organisation accepts the use of private MitID. This happens when the organisation is set up for MitID Erhverv. The individual user can agree to use his private MitID when the user is activated.
When you log in to e.g. Digital Post, it is easy to choose whether you log in as a private person or in a professional context.

When you have entered your private user ID and swiped with the MitID app, you can choose from an overview whether you want to continue as a private person or as a professional user on behalf of your organisation.
When you use your private MitID in a business context, the two identities behind it; the professional identity and the private identity, are always separate.

There is no mixing of your business identity and your private identity when you use your private MitID on behalf of your company or association.

Use a separate MitID for business use to log in

Then you have one MitID for private use and a different MitID for business use

With a separate MitID for business use, you have a separate user ID (MitID Erhverv user ID) and a separate MitID authenticator, e.g. a MitID app. The separate MitID can only be used when you log in or sign digitally with MitID on behalf of your company or association.

The separate MitID authenticator can be a MitID app, code viewer, code reader or chip. Depending on what the individual organisation chooses to offer the users.

If you want to use the MitID app you can do it in two ways:
  • Existing MitID app, e.g. on your private phone
You can add your business user to an existing MitID app, e.g. your MitID app on your private phone. In this way, you have your private user and business user in the same MitID app. The two identities are completely separate in the MitID app and each user have their own PIN code. Note! If you have multiple users in the same MitID app, the biometrics in the app cannot be used. This means that you cannot use face ID or fingerprints when you authorize with the app. Instead, PIN code must be used when authenticating with the MitID app. You have a PIN code for each user that you have in the MitID app. It is not possible to have two MitID apps on the same phone.

  • New MitID app, e.g. on the work phone
The business user can also be added to a new MitID app e.g. your work phone. The MitID app must first be downloaded, after which the business user can be added here.

MitID authenticators

A MitID authenticator is a MitID app, code viewer, code reader or chip. All users must have a MitID authenticator in order to log in or sign digitally on behalf of a company or association.
